Dhm2020

by L. Hanson, Dhm2020 Books available in Docs, PDF, EPUB, Mobi, Textbook, Kindle Format. Download Dhm2020 book, Digital human modeling (DHM) is an active field of research directed towards the goal of creating detailed digital models of the human body and its functions, as well as assessment methods for evaluating human interaction with products and production systems. These have many applications in ergonomics, design and engineering, in fields as diverse as the automotive industry and medicine. This book presents the proceedings of the 6th International Digital Human Modeling Symposium (DHM2020), held in Skövde, Sweden from 31 August to 2 September 2020. The conference was also accessible online for those unable to attend in person because of restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The symposium provides an international forum for researchers, developers and users to report their latest innovations, summarize new developments and experiences within the field, and exchange ideas, results and visions in all areas of DHM research and applications. The book contains the 43 papers accepted for presentation at the conference, and is divided into 6 sections which broadly reflect the topics covered: anthropometry; behavior and biomechanical modeling; human motion data collection and modeling; human-product interaction modeling; industry and user perspectives; and production planning and ergonomics evaluation. Providing a state-of-the-art overview of research and developments in digital human modeling, the book will be of interest to all those who are active in the field.

Handbook Of Digital Human Modeling

by Vincent G. Duffy, Handbook Of Digital Human Modeling Books available in Docs, PDF, EPUB, Mobi, Textbook, Kindle Format. Download Handbook Of Digital Human Modeling book, The rapid introduction of sophisticated computers, services, telecommunications systems, and manufacturing systems has caused a major shift in the way people use and work with technology. It is not surprising that computer-aided modeling has emerged as a promising method for ensuring products meet the requirements of the consumer. The Handbook of Digital Human Modeling provides comprehensive coverage of the theory, tools, and methods to effectively achieve this objective. The 56 chapters in this book, written by 113 contributing authorities from Canada, China, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, and the US, provide a wealth of international knowledge and guidelines. They cover applications in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, data visualization and simulation, defense and military systems, design for impaired mobility, healthcare and medicine, information systems, and product design. The text elucidates tools to help evaluate product and work design while reducing the need for physical prototyping. Additional software and demonstration materials on the CRC Press web site include a never-before-released 220-page step-by-step UGS-Siemens JackTM help manual developed at Purdue University. The current gap between capability to correctly predict outcomes and set expectation for new and existing products and processes affects human-system performance, market acceptance, product safety, and satisfaction at work. The handbook provides the fundamental concepts and tools for digital human modeling and simulation with a focus on its foundations in human factors and ergonomics. The tools identified and made available in this handbook help reduce the need for physical prototyping. They enable engineers to quantify acceptability and risk in design in terms of the human factors and ergonomics.

The benefit of this area of research is to aid in the design of systems. Human modeling and simulation can reduce the need for physical prototyping and incorporate ergonomics and human factors earlier in design processes. These models provide a representation of some human aspects that can be inserted into simulations or virtual environments and facilitate prediction of safety, satisfaction, usability, performance and sustainability. These may consider the physiological, cognitive, behavioral, emotional and environmental aspects. The math and science provides a foundation for visualizations that can facilitate decision making by technical experts, management or those responsible for public policy.

Digital Human Modeling

by Yang Cai, Digital Human Modeling Books available in Docs, PDF, EPUB, Mobi, Textbook, Kindle Format. Download Digital Human Modeling book, The emerging information technologies have enabled new human patterns ranging from physiological interactions to psychological interactions. Perhaps the best example is the rapid ‘evolution’ of our thumbs from simply holding to controlling mobile devices in just a few years recently. Taking the medical field as an example, the fast-growing technologies such as pill cameras, implantable devices, robotic surgeries, and virtual reality training methods will change the way we live and work. Human Algorithms aim to model human forms, interactions, and dynamics in this new context. Human Algorithms are engineering methods that are beyond theories. They intend to push the envelopes of multi-physics, sensing, and virtual technologies to the limit. They have become more comprehensive and inexpensive for use in real-world designs: inside monitors, connected to networks, and under the patient’s skin. This book aims to reflect the state of the art of Human Algorithms. It is a survey of innovative ideas for readers who may be new to this field. The targeted groups include college students, researchers, engineers, designers, scientists, managers, and healthcare professionals. The 11 chapters are divided into three parts: Human Dynamics, Virtual Humans, and Human Forms. Part I: Human Dynamics. In the first chapter “Implantable Computing,” Warwick and Gasson present an overview of the latest developments in the field of Brain to Computer Interfacing. They describe human experimentation in which neural implants have linked the human nervous system bi-directionally with technological devices and the Internet. In the chapter “Brainwave-Based Imagery Analysis,” Cowell et al.
